DuPont's Thailand Innovation Center Celebrates Two Year Anniversary

DuPont recently celebrated the second anniversary of its Thailand Innovation Center, one of its most active centers and a driving force in Thailand's growing presence in the field of research and development. Since its opening in August 2011, the Thailand Center has generated more than 100 new ideas and projects, many of which have commercialized, and has welcomed more than 1,500 visitors from more than 300 organizations.

Bridgestone Opens $42 Million Tech Center in Thailand

Bridgestone Asia Pacific PTE. Ltd., a subsidiary of Bridgestone Corporation, recently opened its new $42 million technical center in Bangkok, Thailand. It will support Bridgestone's Asia/Pacific operations in tire development, tire production technology development and quality management, which are currently handled at the company's technical center in Japan. The new facility will house about 100 employees.

Senior to Expand Thai Plant; Boeing, Airbus Seek Lower Costs     

Senior PLC will expand a production facility in Thailand into a full aerospace center as its biggest customers, Boeing Co. and Airbus SAS, look to lower manufacturing costs and strengthen their relationships with the growing Asian market. The Thailand facility has historically built parts for Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC, a British maker of plane parts, and will now also serve German-based MTU Aero Engines AG.

Thailand Emerges as a Full-Service Regional Aviation Hub      

Thailand is poised to become a full-service aviation hub and a major player in the region's multibillion-dollar aircraft maintenance industry. A new government initiative to allow foreign investors to hold 70 percent or more of a company manufacturing aviation parts will help promote the country as a regional repair center.

Reynolds Polymer Technology Adds Second Thailand Manufacturing Operation

Reynolds Polymer Technology, the longtime aquarium manufacturer and creator of R-Cast® acrylic, opened a new facility for the manufacturing, research and development of acrylic products. The new factory is located in the Siam Eastern Industrial Park in Rayong, Thailand near Nissan and Honda plants.
