Thailand BOI Approves US6.2 billion in Investments, Including Foxconn-PTT’s EV Venture, and Improved Battery, Smart Zones Incentives 

A combined US 6.2 billion worth of investment applications in manufacturing and infrastructure projects, including US1.04 billion by Horizon Plus Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Taiwan’s Foxconn and Thailand’s PTT PCL, to make battery electric vehicles (BEV), was announced and approved to enhance benefits for investment in battery production, building up on the policy to become Southeast Asia’s EV manufacturing hub.

Long-Term Residence Visa 

 

In order to enhance the country's attractiveness as a regional hub for living and doing business for foreigners of 'high potential,' Thailand is introducing a new visa called "Long-Term Resident (LTR)," which provides a range of tax and non-tax benefits. The government has vowed to woo affluent foreigners for lengthy stays, specifically aiming at the wealthy, retirees, remote workers, and experts, with the aim of boosting the economy and investment in the country.
