The Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) New York Office, led by Ms. Jerdchan Aroonrat, Director, together with her team, visited Chicago from 22–24 June 2026 to carry out investment promotion activities, strengthen relationships with U.S. government agencies and private sector partners, and encourage potential investors to expand their businesses to Thailand.
During the visit, the delegation paid a courtesy call on Ms. Bajaree Puengpak, Consul General of Thailand in Chicago, to exchange views on economic, trade, and investment developments, as well as to discuss opportunities for enhancing cooperation in promoting investment between Thailand and the U.S. Midwest.
The BOI New York team also participated in Automate 2026, one of the largest trade shows in the United States dedicated to automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies. During the event, the delegation met with a number of target companies to showcase Thailand's investment potential, competitive advantages, and investment incentives, while encouraging them to consider expanding their operations to Thailand, particularly in high-technology industries, automation, and robotics.
In addition, the delegation visited the headquarters of Ingredion Incorporated to discuss the company's investment plans in Asia and exchange information on Thailand's investment environment and BOI's incentive schemes. The meeting provided an opportunity to explore future investment opportunities and support the company's potential business expansion in Thailand.
The visit underscores BOI New York's proactive role in strengthening partnerships with key stakeholders in the United States while actively engaging with high-potential investors to promote Thailand as a strategic investment destination. These efforts contribute to enhancing the country's competitiveness, advancing targeted industries, and supporting sustainable economic growth. |
