During his visit to Chicago, Illinois on April 9-11 for MRO Americas 2024, Mr. Nanthapol Sudbanthad, Director of BOI New York Office, was invited to be a guest speaker to roundtable meetings organized by a site selector firm and law firms aiming to update investment measures and policies for their U.S. clients interested to invest in Southeast Asia through China+1 strategy theme which were conducted in cities of Chicago and Milwaukee as follows:

On April 10th, East West Associates and Eversheds Sutherland LLP hosted a hybrid roundtable meeting in Chicago, Illinois, with attendees from U.S. companies in the food, petrochemical, and automotive sectors, along with U.S. site selectors. 

On April 11th, East West Associates in collaboration with Foley & Lardner LLP, organized another hybrid roundtable meeting in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with participants from U.S. companies in smart electronics, automotive, and machinery sectors, as well as U.S. site selectors and bankers. 

Mr. Nanthapol provided updates on the total value of the foreign direct investment (FDI) in Thailand. He touched on the U.S.'s recent investment in Thailand and various aspects related to setting up an entity and the associated investment benefits and incentives provided by the Thai government. He also highlighted Thailand’s measures for Investment Promotion under the new strategies to foster new investment, sustainable growth, and development in the region. 

During the event, Mr. Nanthapol offered comprehensive information during Q&A sessions, including financial and operational advantages of doing business in Thailand, as well as insights into the implementation challenges of expanding or relocating into the country.
